About Us

Pregnancy is a time of hope and joy—but for women facing poverty, addiction, or abuse, it can feel overwhelming, isolating, and uncertain. At Tender Life Maternity Home, we are dedicated to transforming that experience into one of empowerment, healing, and possibility.

Since 1985, Tender Life has been supporting at-risk pregnant women to become confident, capable parents and thriving members of their communities. By addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, we break cycles of hardship and create lasting, positive impact for future generations.

Our downtown Ventura home is a warm, welcoming space with four bedrooms, accommodating up to eight mothers and their children. In addition, our graduate house provides a supportive environment for two more mothers and their children. In 2023, we expanded with a second home in Fillmore, CA, doubling our capacity and adding a graduate program to continue walking alongside mothers as they transition to independent, healthy lives.

When a woman arrives at Tender Life, she is embraced by a Christ-centered, family-style environment. Here, she experiences love, guidance, and structure—often for the first time—within a supportive community that models hope, resilience, and healthy relationships.
